Texas woman accused of $179,596 in skipped tolls

If you've ever driven around Dallas, chances are you've paid a vig to the North Texas Toll Authority, an agency that builds roads, tunnels and bridges using fees collected from drivers. But since the NTTA lacks police powers, it's had trouble collecting tolls that went unpaid -- and today, turned to naming and shaming 25,000 of its worst offenders. The surprise? Twenty-two drivers owe more than $100,000 in unpaid tolls and penalties -- with the list topped by a Dallas woman whose bill stands at $179,596.43. That's a Texas-sized bill in any state.

To break into The NTTA;s List, one needed a minimum of 100 unpaid tolls, no response to bills and several notices after six months and at least $2,575 in back fees. The top offender, identified by the NTTA as one Amber Young of Dallas, supposedly sped through the toll booths 8,366 times without payment, with her total including some level of penalties the NTTA didn't disclose. The NTTA said last year about 3 percent of users were dodging about $13 million in tolls, and that a previous drive to publish the names of the worst offenders brought out more response than any other tactic.

NTTA drew its list by taking photos of license plates when a vehicle runs through its electronic toll gates without a valid transponder, then matches the plate to the registered owner of the vehicle. It also warns that the offenders on the list run the risk of a criminal citation -- and the NTTA now says it will start pursuing the worst offenders in civil court as well.

But the NTTA doesn't have a sterling record of matching offenders or warning those who fall behind. There's often mismatches between the address tied to a license plate or vehicle and who's actually driving; all those ex-es living in Texas don't necessarily care if the former spouse kept the toll bill up to date. There's several complaints on the NTTA's Facebook Page about hundreds of dollars in fees suddenly appearing because the NTTA had bad contact information. Two years ago, a Fort Worth woman spent a day in jail because of a NTTA fine she didn't know about that had grown into a bench warrant for a missed court date.

The NTTA was created by Texas lawmakers to pay for roads without raising taxes by charging the people who actually used them, a system that's growing in many congested cities around the nation. If the NTTA's trick works well, expect other toll agencies to consider their own version of Texas justice.

How Katie Holmes Beat Tom Cruise

Katie Holmes carefully plotted her split from Tom Cruise  in a methodical way. The actress “surprised” her husband with a phone call asking for a divorce (Cold Blooded) while he was thousands of miles away in Iceland, shooting his upcoming sci-fi flick "Oblivion," on June 29, then she managed to wrestle away custody of Suri, 6, from him just 11 days later. A report released on Tuesday details just how she went about her secret plan – she used a disposable cell phone. 


According to the Los Angeles Times, a friend of Holmes provided her with the throwaway device so she could talk to her New York City-based lawyers without Cruise, 50, or his people knowing what she was up to. Now, yet another report, a People magazine story released on Wednesday, divulges further details on how Holmes caught her husband of five years off guard by meticulously plotting her divorce plans ahead of time, even reaching out to her parents for help. According to the report, Tom Cruise was about to start shooting an action-packed scene on the set in Iceland when he answered an unexpected call from Holmes. “He was about to do a stunt and got off his motorcycle to take the call,”  a source tells People. It was during that conversation that Holmes broke the news. “He’s been in shock since that day,” the source adds.

The Los Angeles Times also reports that when Holmes, 33, and Cruise settled their divorce on Monday, she already had three law firms in three different states set up in case she’d have to battle her soon-to-be ex outside of Manhattan, where she filed. The “Mission: Impossible” star initially wanted to hash out their divorce in California, which typically favors divorcing parents to have joint custody of their children (Holmes had requested sole custody of Suri in her filing). It turns out one of the toughest attorneys Holmes had on her side was reportedly her own father. “It’s his way or the highway,” a fellow attorney tells People of Martin Holmes, 67, a top divorce lawyer in Toledo, Ohio, who helped lay out Holmes' strategy for the split. “He’ll look a storm in the eye and make sure he’s standing when it’s over,” adds former mayor Carty Finkbeiner.

Holmes' dad arrived in New York to be with his daughter around June 26, two days before she made the call to Cruise. (Whether the actor knew the elder Holmes was in New York at the time remains to be seen). Katie's mom, Kathleen, has also since traveled to the Big Apple and was most recently spotted accompanying her daughter and granddaughter on an outing to the Manhattan athletic complex Chelsea Piers on Tuesday.

As part of the settlement, Holmes will have total control over Suri’s education. And, in a move that is a definite slap in the actor’s face, Holmes – who renounced her Catholic upbringing for Scientology when she married Cruise in 2006 – has registered as a parishioner at the Church of St. Francis Xavier in New York City not far from her Chelsea apartment. That presumably means she'll be taking Suri along with her to mass. “Everyone is thrilled to have Katie join us,” a member of the church's choir told The Huffington Post on Monday. “She has not yet attended a service, but when she does she will be welcomed with open arms.” (Yeah, They just want her money an the publicity. Church is just brainwashing people) I think she did this so fast is because she had a one punch knockout an so the media wouldn't have a field day with this story. Two Florida Cops Fired After High Speed Chase

Three off-duty policeoffcers from Clermont Florida are in hot water after they led a fellow officer on a 90 mph highway chase as a joke. The car-mounted video footage shows that they think it's all fun & games, but their bosses didn't. The two off duty cops in the front seats were fired but the third who was in the backseat only got a one day suspension.

Mac Miller Being Sued For $10 Million By Hip Hop Legend

Mac Miller is reportedly being sued for 10 million dollars by Lord Finesse for sampling his song called, "Hip 2 Da Game." The track that this controversial sample is featured on is, "Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza," which appeared on his mixtape, 'K.I.D.S.' As I am sure all Mac Miller fans know this mixtape played a large roll in Mac taking his career to the next level.

Now a days many of the most popular tracks have samples mixed in making everyone a taker with little to give. Finesses's lawyer had this to say.

"This is a case about a teenage rapper–Mac Miller–copying the music from a song written, produced and performed by Lord Finesse, a hip hop legend, changing the title and then distributing it under his own name in order to launch his music career,"

The law suit includes "copyright infringement, unfair competition, unjust enrichment, interference, deceptive trade practices, and a number of related state law claims."

However, there are two sides to every story and Mac Miller will not go out silently. Miller took to his twitter account to blow off some steam.

Missy Elliott Lawsuit

I personally never liked the whole car shopping experience but nothing I've never had anything go wrong like Missy Elliott's recent car shopping experience. In a recent report from TMZ, the Virginia raptress is apparently suing an Illinois car dealership over a recently purchased Lamborghini.

The lawsuit claims that Elliot purchased a white 2012 Lamborghini Aventador from the Illnois-based Fox Valley Motor Cars. She agreed to make a down payment of $30,000 cash and her $85,000 2005 Bentley for the new vehicle with the stipulation that the dealership deliver the vehicle by mid-2012.

Now, however, Elliott claims that Fox Valley Motor Cars has breached their agreed upon contract and refuses to deliver the automobile. The auto dealer says that they won't hand over the car at the indicated sale price because the market value of the car has increased.

Missy Elliott is suing for possession of the vehicle and damages from the breach of contract.

Dam, Whatever happen to keeping your word? If I was in the market for a Lambo I would have second thoughts about getting the car from Fox Valley Motors. There's a McLaren dealership up the street from my house, Rather give them my business.  

40 Glocc Responds to fight with Game

Everybody had to of seen that fight by now!

40 Glocc responds to fight with Game and says he will not press charges, and that the released footage of the fight was after Game and his crew jumped him with gums after 40 Glocc was leaving a pool party the both attended. 

The internet has been buzzing after Game posted The Video From his iPhone of the fight with 40 Glocc . The G-Unit affiliate rapper says in an interview with VladTV that he was jumped by Game and his boys who had pulled out guns on him, "you got a problem with me let’s get it in, don’t pull burners on me and chase me with pistols". He then adds with a laugh, "pistols pulled..."

In the interview he says that "the footage caught was the end of the fight after they had jumped him using guns". 40 Glocc did not fight back because he didn't want to get shot, (Yeah, Okay bro. you just got punked) "if I hit this nigga back, one of these niggas...somebody liable to pull something...you don’t got a gun and they got some, you better run", adding "I'm still breathing".  40 does not intend on taking legal action, "me, I don't give a fuck; I ain't pressin' no charges...that shit ain't nothin'."

He also said "Game waited till I left and then jumped me, I posted up for awhile...when I was walking down the hill...these niggas got guns...I had to high-tail it, couldn’t get to a pistol if I wanted to". 

Throughout the interview 40 Glocc takes several jabs at Game, and near the end adds "thank God that the nigga didn’t have a tadbit of me in him...cause I woulda been dead right now".  

This probably won't be the last we hear from either rapper on the situation as both have been active on twitter taking shots at each other.
