Wale's sophomore album "Ambition" went Gold

Wale's sophomore effort has officially gone gold, moving over 500,000 units.

Wale's MMG debut "Ambition" has officially gone gold.

His label boss,Rick Ross, broke the news via Twitter this morning. Ambition has sold more than 500,000 copies since dropping on November 1st of 2011.

Farmer plants heart-shaped meadow for late wife

A devoted farmer painstakingly planted a tribute to his late wife, Janet, using 6,000 oak trees to etch out a giant heart in the middle of his field in South Gloucestershire, England. Howes, 70, and a gardener spent weeks planning and setting out each oak after his wife died suddenly 15 years ago. He planted the fledgling trees across a six-acre field after carefully marking out a heart shape in one half of the grass, with the heart pointing in the direction of her childhood home. The stunning crop was captured in its full beauty after a balloonist sailed over the farmhouse and photographed the field from the air.

The Highest Grossing Celebrity This Year Is (Drum Roll Please).....

Singer Taylor Swift was on her grind this year earning the most for any celebrity under 30. ( Yes she beat Justin Bieber) taking in $57 million, as women dominated the top spots on a list released by Forbes.com on Thursday.

Bieber, who brought in an estimated $55 million, was the only male among the top five earners, who included Rihanna at No. 3 with $53 million, followed by Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. (Dam Artists are slacking) 

"We are seeing a convergence of these talented women who know how to work the system," said Dorothy Pomerantz, the Los Angeles bureau chief for Forbes.

"The things they have in common, obviously they write great hits, are strong personalities. That really helps them from a publicity point of view. They connect with their fans," she added.

Kristen Stewart, who was the highest paid actress last year with an estimated $34.5 million in earnings, captured the No. 7 spot and was the only actress in the top 10.

Stewart, a lead player in the "The Twilight Saga" films, also had a hit with "Snow White and the Huntsman" (Great Movie) and is considered one of Hollywood's up-and-coming stars.

Her co-star in the "Twilight" films and real-life boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, came in at No. 10 with earnings of $26.5 million.

"'Twilight' has done wonderful things for these kids' bank accounts," said Pomerantz, adding that they are now making $12 million per film in the franchise. "What will be telling is how they do post-'Twilight.'"

To compile the list Forbes analyzed album and concert sales, movies earnings, profit participation, advertising work and endorsements between May 2011 and May 2012. Managers, lawyers, agents and other insiders were also consulted.

LeBron James Tweets Photo Of Arnold Palmer Nike

LeBron James named the latest version of his Nike basketball shoe line after Arnold Palmer. Yeah, heard that correctly. (Wounder if he's the next to get sued) James, who's coming off his first NBA championship with the Heat Tweeted a Picture of his new shoe he titled "LeBronold Palmer 9 lows." 


The shoe has that whole "Florida" vibe to it with palm trees and pastel colors as well a some Arnold Palmer ice tea accent on the insole. 


 Nike has yet to confirm if these shoes are going mainstream, but if they do, might we suggest they come in a soft spike model? It'd be a shame to name a shoe after Arnold Palmer and not make a model for the course.

Beanie Sigel Guilty of Tax Evasion (2 years)

Beanie Sigel was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to tax evasion.

Beanie Sigel's legal woes continue as the rapper received his sentencing for pleading guilty to tax evasion.  (From HipHopDX) he was sentenced to two years in prison for failing to file taxes between 1999 and 2005, in which he owed $728,000.

The plea came back in August 2011 after he was facing three years in prison.  Sigel is no stranger to doing time, in 2004 he did a bid for a gun and drug possession charge, and returned to prison in 2008 for a third strike on violating his parole. 

He is required to report to the prison on September 12^th

Philly Pastor Has Beef With Meek Mill

A Pastor from Meek Mill's hometown of Philadelphia is upset with Meek's use of "Amen" in his song of the same name.

Meek Mill's stand-out single off his mixtape Dreamchasers 2 , "Amen" which features Jeremih & Drake, has been shunned by a Philadelphia Pastor named Jomo K. Johnson. The Pastor has been asking for a ban on radio play of "Amen."

Johnson is upset with Meek's use of the word "Amen" in his record, and he is even writing a book condemning Meek Mill and accusing him of blasphemy. The two got into a heated debate while on air on Philly's Hot 107.9, and didn't resolve anything.

During the on-air exchange, Meek says he thinks Pastor is just looking for fame and if he'd gone about it in a different way, Meek would have offered money to the church. 

"From my understanding and my look at it, it's looking like you're trying to get famous or you need some attention because you could've came to me and you could've said anything you wanted to say and I might've helped you," he said. "If you wanted me to send money for your church, I might've would've gave you that money, or I might've would've even remixed the song…you went about it and you went like you're looking for attention and fame, that's the way it's lookin' to me."

"I'm out here feeding my family, for you to talk about you want to ban me? I took thirty drug dealers off the street...where was you at?"

1st off how did this pastor even hear this song? Didn't know hardcore hip hop was his style. Also the fact that you're writing a book over one of his song just because it was on the radio. There's a hand full of songs that you could "Bitch" about but just because he is a Philly native you think you'll get more support from the hood. This is probably the same guy who was mad about drug dealers on the block but praised him when they donated money to the church. Last time I checked the Church isn't something I'd wanna trust. They've lied about sexual assault an who knows where all the money goes. (Maybe into his pocket?)  This story makes Meek look like a hero for taking drug dealers off the streets by giving them a real job in the music game.

Gold Coins Found At Israel Crusades Site

HERZLIYA, Israel (Reuters) - A 1,000-year-old hoard of gold coins has been unearthed at a famous Crusader battleground where Christian and Muslim forces once fought for control of the Holy Land, Israeli archaeologists said on Wednesday. The treasure was dug up from the ruins of a castle in Arsuf, a strategic stronghold during the religious conflict waged in the 12th and 13th centuries.

The 108 coins - one of the biggest collections of ancient coins discovered in Israel - were found hidden in a ceramic jug beneath a tile floor at the cliff-top coastal ruins, 15 km (9 miles) from Tel Aviv.

"It is a rare find. We don't have a lot of gold that had been circulated by the Crusaders," said Oren Tal, a professor at Tel Aviv University who leads the dig.

 Arsuf, which overlooks the Mediterranean sea, was the site of a famous 12th century victory for England's King Richard I - known as Lionheart - over Muslim leader Saladin.

About 80 years later, in 1265, the Muslim army returned under a different general, and lay siege to the city for 40 days. When the outer walls fell, the knights retreated to the castle, which was eventually destroyed.

The stash, Tal believes, belonged to the Knights Hospitaller who inhabited the castle. It may have been payment they were due to pay for leasing the land, or perhaps profits from industrial activities, he said.

The gold coins weigh about 400 grams (14 ounces) in total. Some were minted two centuries earlier in Egypt, and they will be studied over the next six months, Tal said.

"The study of these coins will contribute to our understanding of how large-scale economic interactions were made at the time," he said.   

I love when I hear about things like this. I always wounder what it would be like to live back in that time period. Then again I wouldn't have twitter or Blogger. I'll Just settle with dreaming about it. Ha Hopefully this recent find turns more people to History.
